Friends 4 Life Foundation Inc.
Helping to Educate and Empower Youth Through Education and Fiscal and General Support
Friends 4 Life started in 2015 and became a 501(c)(3) in 2017. Kimberly Stevens, Founder/Executive Director, was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2010, only two months after her mother (Lana) died from cervical cancer. After surgery and chemotherapy, on the last day of her radiation treatments, her sister (Tammy) was diagnosed with lung cancer, which she succumbed to just 8 months after her diagnosis. This was yet another devastating blow to the family. Kimberly’s family, like so many other families facing this type of trauma, experienced financial hardship and crisis due to their inability to work. Trauma has such a devastating and long-lasting effect on children. Kimberly and everyone at F4L believe no child should have to feel alone or give up on their dreams due to a traumatic experience so,
“Let's Be Friends 4 Life.”

Programs
1. F4L Legacy & HE²Y Scholarships and Book Stipends
Our Scholarships and Stipends provide financial assistance to students ages 17-22 in their pursuit of post-secondary education at a 2 or 4-year College/University or an accredited Trade School. The funds are to be used to help offset the costs of higher education which can help them fulfill their dreams. (apply using the application tab)
2. Youth Financial Literacy Course
Our Financial Literacy Workshop serves youth ages 8-19, teaching them
crucial financial skills. Through interactive workshops and real-world
simulations, we empower and lay the foundation for young individuals to
understand financial decisions.
3. Peer2Peer Seasonal Support (Holiday Party)
The End of the Year Holiday Party brings joy to youth of all ages, whose
families cannot afford Christmas due to trauma or tragedy. With a festive
celebration that includes food, personalized gifts, and engaging activities, we
provide a much-needed reprieve and foster a sense of belonging and community
support.

4. Back to School Supplies Drive
Our annual Back to School Supplies Drive provides essential school supplies to youth ages 5-18. This initiative helps alleviate the financial burden on families and ensures that every child starts the school year equipped for success. By supporting educational equity, we aim to bridge the gap between students from low-income families and their peers.
